Finis

Aloha once again!

Many of you know that we will be moving next Wednesday, as we suddenly lost our jobs and were not able to find new ones that were stable quick enough.

We have been showing up for GPECWAOSH meetings on Tuesday nights, but since everyone stopped coming, I wanted to send out this last bulletin, as a call for any who want to see us before we go.

If you would like to come tonight to Cafe 2600, or would like to drop by our apartment today/this evening to chill or say hi, please email me at composr [at] gmail (dot) com. Otherwise, we will not be coming by tonight.

Please be warned that there is no GPECWAOSH next Tuesday night because of the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

If you would like to see us at any time before we leave next Wednesday, please contact me and let me know.

Mahalo nui loa, a hui hou,

Jonathon and Kelly

Farewell, and Write-in Tomorrow

Well, it seems that people's incredibly busy lives over this past month have prevented them from participating in otherwise writerly activities. :) Myself included, we had a rather intensely busy April, and I apologise to any Frenziers for not having more activities, but it seemed people were far too busy for such things as writing scripts.

Regardless, we enter a sad time when we face to lose one of our own, Sam, who will be leaving the island in the near future (very near, in fact). Mike has graciously taken it upon himself to organise the farewell party, tonight (Tuesday) at Chiang Mai restaurant. He has asked to congregate at his place between 6:30-7:00 this evening. If you need further information, please contact Mike (UwasaWaya).

In other news, because of this sudden change in plans, our weekly meeting/write-in will take place on Wednesday instead, from 7:00 pm as usual. We are entering a small interim period, to allow for some breathing, relaxing, and those of us still in school to wrestle with finals and end-of-semester duties. Write-ins will be a time to hang out as usual, but bring something you are still working, such as editing a NaNo, another novel or your script. If you have nothing to work on, don't worry! Come on by anyways, and we'll work on a short story every week or so to keep our creative juices at a steady trickle. :)

Without further ado, see you tonight, and if not, see you Wednesday! A hui hou.

Into the Frenzy!

In case you have noticed, or you were waiting for my e-mail (which *finally* got sent out ^_^), Script Frenzy 2009 is here!! If you've ever wanted to write a screenplay or script, now's your chance!

It's never too late to sign up and start, the goal is 100 pages, and if that sounds daunting, don't worry: 100 pages in script format is nothing! Check out:

http://www.scriptfrenzy.org

You can always find out more by coming to the write-in tonight and the Kickoff on Sunday! Check out the
official regional calendar here:

http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=ngkmigf2loepg2i6qkmftevnk4%40gr...

Remember, 30 days and 100 pages only means 3.33-ish pages per day! And let me tell you, wordcount-wise it's chump change, a measly few word wars. Though I can't imagine trying to do word wars with scripts, something just tells me it won't work.

Just like NaNo, don't worry if you don't have anything to write about, we can provide magical plot machines to spew forth very, very bad plots, characters and central struggles. Don't miss this chance to make a less-than-mediocre script. C'mon, it'll be fun! Really, I don't even have a story. Not a clue.

So now you know, and now I expect you all to be there, or be []. Brackets, yes, you'll be brackets.

Hope to see you all there! And if you don't want to join the Frenzy, bring your own pet project to work on.

NaNoEdMo and New Cafe 2600 Day

In case you've had some trouble getting to events, I'd like to take this time to remind everyone that we are meeting Tuesday , 7:00 PM at Cafe 2600

In other news, National Novel Editing Month is upon us! Throughout the month of March, we will be taking out those dusty-old NaNos from 2008, and taking the red pen to them! This event is not *officially* a part of the NaNoWriMo pantheon of goodness, but it was spun-off by an ML.

I encourage everyone who will participate to head over and create an account at the site, where you can log your hours and participate in the forums. I know, it's another site, but we should support the event by using their resources.

In the meantime, I can continue some cleanup around here. *looks for the broom*

Carry on, nothing to see here....

Aloha

Welcome to the reincarnation of GPECWAOSH's web presence! If this is your first time visiting, thanks for stopping by, and excuse us as we finish up our renovations. The current lack of content will be corrected within the next few days.

The plan of action: for now, we need everyone to set up their accounts. It's extremely straightforward, pretty much the same as of the NaNoWriMo site. Click on Login above, and Create new account. For the time being, there's only a few steps to complete to get set up. For now, that's it!

Keep an eye out over this week and watch the content fill up. Much of the old site will be migrated, with better organisation and the forums will be setup by Wednesday.

Important notice: we will be holding Write-In Wednesday this week at Cafe 2600. Be there!
